I often make myself the butt of my jokes and that said with a serious straight face often makes people laugh so hard they can't breathe. My ADD might not be able to have women want to marry me, but when it comes to saying something funny at just the right moment I often ' CARPE DIEM' seize the day with just saying something very funny out of nowhere. People often set me up to hit a home run grand slam funny joke with throwing a real slow pitch I can just wham and take a crack at into the grandstands. Like the other day We were drinking Trader Joes Sweet Tea and Green Leaf Tea. Someone said that if you drink green tea leaves that it kills bad breath by killing bacteria. I knew what I was going to say, but gave it a one second pause 'beat' like in a screenplay and then said "people are always telling me I should drink green tea when they are talking right next to me!" My friend nearly hit the floor and almost spit out his subway sandwich he had in his mouth. My art teacher in charge of ceramics program just burst out laughing, which I don't see him do every day, he smiles a lot. They could not breathe for like 4 or 5 seconds as they were laughing hysterically.
Last weekend in ceramics I was hanging out with a group of friends in the studio we were talking about ways to get aids virus from someone else and I thought my friend Jose said the words "human Waste" I was not sure if he said it or not but it sounded funny so I repeated back what I thought he had said, "human waste?" and everyone laughed for atleast 20 seconds till they caught their breathes.
2 weeks before that again in ceramics we had the visiting artists who graduated from Cal Arts here at CSULB working on their friends large scale pattern design ceramics sculpture. Half of the Cal Arts graduates knew me already and that I was unique and rather funny. A few of the girls from Europe did not know me. One girl who was French I think wanted help getting online to use the campus internet. I had just finished a story about how internet porn or gambling sites can crash your computer with a website virus, so I warned her not to look at porn or gambling websites as to keep her computer from crashing. 20 minutes later she came up to me and wanted help to log back into the campus internet access, we have to use our student ID's to access campus internet. Before I typed in the passcode to log on I said to her in front of everyone, "Oh, you were on those sites...you did look at those sites didn't you? I warned you about that, be careful." she said "she did not know what I was saying", she only spoke intermediate english language skills. Her guy friends one who knew me and one who knew of me were just busting up laughing, and she was perplexed at what was so funny or going on! The guys were covering their mouth to try to stop from laughing as I said, "I like those sites to, myself, but you have to be careful looking at them because they can crash your computer. I can't help you if you are going to keep going to these websites."
I liked being the comic relief, it helps make me be fairly popular with certain people on campus.
Sometimes the moment to say something funny often with a serious face or tone just opens up right in front of me in a conversation to make someone laugh and I just go for it and try to time it just right but very quickly say it before the joke can't be used because we are on to another topic or part of the conversation. My social skills advisor in the learning skills department at CSULB was trying to explain to me ways to change my outcome in life and have realistic goals not in a day dream fantasyland. He told me, "that he could write me a check for 30 million dollars if he was a billionaire and with my millions of dollars he gave to me, I could now have 5 internet models who wanted to marry me for my money who were not paying attention to me before. They would cheat on me with other handsome better looking men because they did not love me, they just wanted the money." I said "I find that hard to believe" we all knew I was referring to the handsome better looking men comment and everyone broke out laughing when before that I was being grilled for struggling with my social skills they were giving me a critical report about. I lightened up the room and the weight being put on my shoulders to have better social skills and more reasonable dreams and goals with attractive women then I had been conducting and helping make sure that i remained single by being so awkward and naive on how to win over attractive women to go crazy for me.
I was not the class clown as a public school kid or teenager. I had a few choice moments before in my youth making people laugh, but most of my peers were mean and harsh to me and they did not give me the leeway to make the group laugh with me instead of at me against me will by picking on me every day. In college I was somehow able to have the freedom to be myself and not judged by all of my peers around me in art college and that higher maturity level found in many of my peers or friends in college was a freedom from high school and mean kids who bully or harassed each other or went after me.
I am in a comedy writing class this semester with a professor who is a professional comedian and comedy writer.
